- Temporary membrane structure Carré des Arts
Courtyard of Carrè des Arts in Mons (Belgium)
In cooperation with and contracted by European Future Structures NV (Veldeman Goup) Buitink Technology realized a temporary tensioned membrane structure for the courtyard of Carrè des Arts in Mons (Belgium).
Dimensions and execution membrane construction
The tensioned membrane is composed of 5 separate modules, connected by (stainless) steel cables. Besides the configuration of 5 modules, it is also possible to install only 3 modules.
About 60x25 meters of the courtyard is covered by the structure. The membrane modules are assembled at ground level. When completed the membrane is lifted to it's final position by means of integrated lifting systems and are properly tensed.
In autumn the membranes are removed to be reinstalled in spring.
