This project is a unique combination of a tensed membrane and a laminated timber construction for the entrance of Dolfinarium Harderwijk.

In response to a demand from GMB Infra BV from Opheusden, Buitink Technology has realized the engineering, production and installation of a membrane structure covering the entrance, flag poles as well as the belonging flags.

Unique in the Netherlands

To provide the adequate atmosphere for the Dolphinarium the architects have chosen this particular combination of timber and fabric, which is unique in the Netherlands. Usually the tensed fabrics are combined with steel structures. In this case it was a big challenge to transfer the tensioning forces from the membrane to the timber structure.
