Buitink Technology developed an insulated air cushion roof with an ETFE foil skylight. This skylight is equiped internally with a solar control system.

The air cushion roof is made of 2 layers membrane cloth. An insulating layer is placed on the lower membrane layer. It results in a very high heat resistance (Rc value) of the roof.

Transparent skylights made of ETFE foil

The air cushion roof can be equiped with transparent ETFE foil skylights, having build in slats. The slats prevent direct sunlight entrance. Lucidity of the skylight is controlled by inflating the slats with air. Releasing the air again by evacuation restores the light entrance of the skylight. A robust and maintenance free sunlight control system is obtained.
