Buitink Technology produced the two screens for the North Sea Prototype 2 and 3. Applied techniques are industrial cutting, sewing and high frequency welding.

Collaboration with the Ocean Cleanup foundation

In the preparatory phase Buitink investigated together with the Ocean Cleanup various methods and details to assemble, interconnect and fix the screens to the HDPE tubes. Buitink together with TOC looked into the forces on and deformation  of the membrane and the results were taken into account in cutting the shape (giving the lower part of the screen membrane more space).
