We received the following enquiry from the client (a well-known Parisian fashion house):

"We would like to have our courtyard covered. The canopy should be able to be opened and closed automatically and should connect nicely to the existing tree in the middle of the courtyard. Ideally, we would like to be able to open or close sections of the courtyard for the sun."

In response to this enquiry, we visited the client and the location, and created a design based on our findings.

Four large umbrellas

The design consists of four large umbrellas with a height of about 6 metres and a surface area of about 5 x 5 metres. The umbrellas connect to the tree in the middle of the courtyard.

The umbrellas are suitable for permanent use and provide protection from rain and sun. The umbrellas can also remain open in strong winds or storms. The umbrellas can be opened or closed electrically. When closed, the cloth/membrane is protected from sun and rain by the covers integrated in the umbrella construction. This also makes the umbrellas look sleek even when closed.
