Operating principle flexible dam
Buitink Technology's dam does not contain prefabricated (sub)parts coming from outside Europe. Flexible dam systems from our competitors often consist of (largely) prefabricated parts from the Far East, which are only assembled in Europe, the US or Canada.
The (flood) water causes the flexible weir to unfold itself, fill with water and then stay firmly in place, holding back the water.
Figure 1. Overview of flexible water barrier from Buitink Technology
Water held back by the flexible dam creates water pressure on the ground cloth, creating shear resistance that keeps the dam in place. Separation baffles keep the sloping water retaining fabric at the correct angle and position.
